Road and Safety Signage for a Major Mining Project South of Port Hedland.

PROJECT DETAILS

We recently provided a well-known mining company with signage for a major project located south of Port Hedland. This US$2.6 billion project is set to produce high-grade minerals, substantially expanding the company’s product offering. For this project, the client required road signage to provide clear instructions and maximise safety for all visitors and employees on site.

Site safety is of paramount importance to this client, with signage being a critical tool used to communicate information to users. This company is a longstanding client of Corsign, and with our proven track record of efficient mine-site road signage, they once again requested our services for 25km of light vehicle (LV) roads and 4-5km of haul road signs.

Being a large player within the mining sector, this client has internal mining standards that must be adhered to on all of their sites, not to mention strict safety protocols implemented before any work is carried out. Signs for this project needed to be customised to suit the end-use, and required fast turnaround times to avoid delays to the strict project timeline. Any delays could have caused a setback to work starting on site – affecting production and resulting in serious costs.

Fortunately, our customisable signage solutions allow businesses to create signs that are specific to their requirements. We provided guidance to ensure all signage and installation specifications would meet not only the client’s internal standards but also their national regulatory obligations. At Corsign, we facilitate client needs, no matter what they are – cutting steel to specific lengths, installing signs on-site or helping with logistics to get clients the products required.

Managing Director of Corsign Adam Smith said, “We worked off this client’s plans for their signage, checking against previous work we have delivered for the company and collating all the artwork for their approval. This avoided any potential for signs to be missed or over ordered – we prefer to give our clients a visual indication of their order, especially for big projects.”

In this case, it also allowed for an important adjustment to the designs – the client required the signage to feature an updated logo, specifically designed for this site. Without Corsign’s thorough proof process, this may have been missed and could have resulted in excess wastage and reprinting costs.

Feedback on Corsign’s products and service level for this project’s signage and safety requirements indicated that the client was extremely satisfied. “Corsign are very helpful with the logistics of getting orders to you – if we need to rush anything they will squeeze it in and any issues they’ll replace the signs. It’s all about partnership – we have a good partnership.” said the client’s Development and Improvement Coordinator.

Corsign will continue servicing this client for any road and safety signage required in the future. We have the system down pat, working together for positive outcomes and providing efficient solutions for any issues that arise – the type of partnership we strive for with all our clients.
